Optibent and Nanothix additives were created to perform unique functions in cement containing construction products. Optibent additives are utilized to improve the application properties of dry mix cement products such as base coats, plaster, joint compounds, stucco, screeds and specialty mortars. The inclusion of an Optibent additive in a dry mix product will create a smoother product with better application properties and extended open times when mixed with water.

Nanothix additives are incorporated into cement containing products to provide hydrophobicity. By incorporating a Nanothix additive into the makedown of a dry mix product, water-resistant properties can be achieved throughout the thickness of the material rather than just on the surface of the material as with other additives. Nanothix additives are also much easier to incorporate into the makedown of dry mix products than are the extremely hydrophobic competitive silane polymer additives.

For emulsion type construction adhesive products, Optigel additives can be used to stabilize the emulsion and prevent phase separation upon storage. In emulsion systems, Optigel additives form a high yield value network that “traps” emulsion droplets and solids keeping them immobile which eliminates coalescing and settling.
