Claytone® additives have been used in the manufacture of grease for over 30 years. Claytone®-based greases offer several distinct benefits over soap-based and other types of greases, including: non-melting at high temperatures, non-hardening at lower temperatures, improved “bleed” resistance, improved water resistance, and improved metal adhesion.
Using Claytone® additives to manufacture grease allows flexibility in the manufacturing process, and greatly reduces the amount of equipment needed. The type of lubricating oil used in the manufacture of the grease will determine which Claytone® additive should be used as the thickener.
Greases containing Claytone® additives can typically be defined as multipurpose greases. These greases can also be used in extreme environments where very high or low temperatures are encountered, or wet conditions exist.
