Rockwood Clay-Based Additives Announces Global Price Increase

GONZALES, Tex. (June 14, 2011) — Effective July 1, 2011, or as agreements allow, Rockwood Clay-Based Additives will be increasing prices globally from five to 20 percent, depending on grade. This action impacts specialty chemicals and rheological additives in all markets and regions represented by Southern Clay Products, Inc., Rockwood Additives Ltd. and Rockwood Clay Additives GmbH.
"This increase is driven primarily by increased raw material costs," explains Don Poucher, vice president of global sales and marketing for Rockwood Clay-Based Additives, "and further magnified by rising energy and transportation costs."
